The Radiant Z Family | Pasadena Family Photographer

Hello little blog <3  I’m so completely backlogged on blogging sessions and personal photos so I figured I would begin with my most recent family session.

A stormy So Cal weekend might have necessitated a last minute location change but it could not stop this family’s love from shining.

Because they radiated.

I’m so honored every time someone entrusts me with the opportunity to capture their family through my vision. My portrait business may be humble but my desire to photograph honest, natural, raw love runs deep in my soul. This incredible family blessed me by allowing me to witness their beautiful connections.

Needless to say, I’m in love with their images.

Her Birth

One year. More than a year actually since I’ve posted here. It’s time to come back to my blog. This humble place to write from my heart and to simply be present to the sound of my inner reflections tapping out on the keyboard.

I do have lots of sessions to share, beautiful families, their incredible love, but for now I want to share a bit of my life.

We have a daughter.

Last August, we found out we were expecting. Severe morning sickness slowed me down as my body created a haven for this precious little being and cared for our son every day. This slowing down, in hindsight, was a gift. Our daughter, before she was even born, made me savor my days with her curious and joy-filled brother before she joined our family. Our daughter, before she was born, made me listen to the restless whispers in my heart seeking more. Our daughter, before she was born, made me realize that God’s love spills out from within when I reach out to Him.

Frederick Beuchner writes:

“After centuries of handling and mishandling, most religious words have become so shopworn nobody’s much interested anymore. Not so with grace, for some reason. Mysteriously, even derivatives like gracious and graceful still have some of the bloom left.

“Grace is something you can never get but can only be given. There’s no way to earn it or deserve it or bring it about any more than you can deserve the taste of raspberries and cream or earn good looks or bring about your own birth.

“A good sleep is grace and so are good dreams. Most tears are grace. The smell of rain is grace. Somebody loving you is grace. Loving somebody is grace. Have you ever tried to love somebody?

“A crucial eccentricity of the Christian faith is the assertion that people are saved by grace. There’s nothing you have to do. There’s nothing you have to do. There’s nothing you have to do.

“The grace of God means something like: ‘Here is your life. You might never have been, but you are, because the party wouldn’t have been complete without you. Here is the world. Beautiful and terrible things will happen. Don’t be afraid. I am with you. Nothing can ever separate us. It’s for you I created the universe. I love you.’

“There’s only one catch. Like any other gift, the gift of grace can only be yours if you’ll reach out and take it.

“Maybe being to reach out and take it is a gift too.”

It is no wonder that we named our sweet girl, Grace Elizabeth.

Just hours old…

May you remember that the universe was created for YOU!

This beautiful senior has the most incredible family!

I’ve taken their engagement photos, bachelorette party photos, wedding photos, family photos…and to top it all off, I was blessed with the honor of photographing this lovely young woman.

Her smile was infectious from the first click of the shutter, and I’ve no doubt that she spreads immense joy among everyone she knows.  What a beauty!

Thank you for a fantastic session! I’m so excited for you as you enjoy senior year and get ready for your college adventures!grace1grace3grace4_1grace7grace8grace9_1grace12grace15grace17grace19grace24grace26grace27bwgrace29grace30grace32bwgrace35grace36grace38
